Dr. Barbara Morrison, Founder and CEO of DrBarbCNM, LLC
Barbara Morrison PhD, RN, NM, FNP, CKC, IBCLC (a.k.a. DrBarb). Formerly in the Janice M. Riordan Distinguished Professorship in Maternal Child Health at Wichita State University School of Nursing, Dr. Morrison’s mission is to advocate, educate & inspire health care reform to enhance physiologically & ecologically appropriate care for the mother-newborn dyads especially as it relates to establishing breastfeeding, frequent Kangaroo Care (skin-to-skin contact),holding, & optimal attachment. DrBarb’s education history spans the country: College of Wooster, BA Biology; Columbia University, NYC, BSN; University of Washington, MN Primary Health Care; University of Illinois, post master’s certificate Nurse Midwifery & PhD maternal-newborn & midwifery. Dr. Barb’s research has covered broad aspects of the impact of mother/infant attachment, breast feeding & KC on psycho-neuro-endocrine development of newborns/parents and much more. Dr. Morrison does presentations, radio shows & writes.
