Martin became a social worker in the UK in 2004. For 10 yrs prior, he worked in health & social care alongside Children & Adults in need in the community, centre-based and residential care. In 2007 Martin specialised in child protection & family support work. He was a successful social worker before moving into management, then setting up his own consultancy business. Martin achieved the Diploma in Social Work, a 1st Class Hons degree in Adv. Social Work Practice, & a Commendation for the Post Qualifying Specialist Award in Social Work with Children & their Families. In 2015, he moved to W. Australia gaining international experience as a team leader of a Government Child Protection & Family Support Team. In 2018 he established a not-for-profit agency called Childhood Essentials Incorporated, which launches in 2019. He has applied for a PhD candidate position with the University of S. Australia to research, pilot & evaluate a children’s assessment framework called “The 7 Hearts.”
