David Gruehn is a Global Retail Industry Principal for SAP’s Customer Experience team. He has been passionately directing traffic at the intersection of retail & technology for 25 years as a visionary leader, advisor, executive, consultant, speaker and author. His first job as a retail associate in the early ‘80’s coincided with a passion for personal computing which fused into a career. As a CIO in the ‘90’s, David was an early adopter of online retailing and harnessed technology to enhance in-store customer experiences. In 1999, David joined Microsoft to create their first retail go-to-market strategy helping retail’s most influential leaders harness disruptive technology to connect with customers. Today he help’s SAP retail customers digitally transform their business from a transactional customer focus to creating lifetime customer experience relationships. He’s held seats on the Retail System Alert and NRF Foundation advisory boards and has published numerous industry articles.
