Joaquin Anguera, PhD

Dr. Joaquin Anguera has worked in the field of aging for over 40 years. For 20 years he was a professor of gerontology at San Diego State University. Currently, he is a governor’s appointee to the California Commission on Aging. Joaquin has been involved in the establishment of several agencies helping the elderly and he is or has been on several boards of directors. He’s given numerous presentations throughout the nation and abroad on subjects related to longevity and the challenges of old age. He worked for over 30 years at Aging & Independence Services, a county agency that oversees all the services for the elderly in San Diego County. He received a Ph.D. in Leadership and Human Behavior with an emphasis in gerontology. He has life-time California Community College Teaching Credentials in Psychology and Philosophy.
