Maggie Mulhern (@modernmaggie1) is the NYC based Beauty and Fashion Director for MODERN Salon Media. Maggie joined MODERN in the 1980’s and has spent more than three decades covering the beauty industry on a global scale. In addition to writing articles and posting stories, Maggie travels internationally as a journalist to get “the scoop” on the latest trends, product information and techniques in the professional salon world. Known for a keen eye, Maggie has judged hundreds of competitions including NAHA, Wella’s International Trend Vision, Goldwell’s Color Zoom and many more. As an Art Director, Maggie has been responsible for hundreds of magazine covers and thousands of inside pages and features for MODERN and her sister publications including Process, Texture and Salon Today. She was one of the founders of @modernsalon on Instagram and continues to help drive attention to salon professionals through this incredibly powerful platform.
