Laila Sanguras is a middle school teacher specializing in language arts and gifted education. She received her doctorate in educational psychology from the University of North Texas, and developed a keen interest in grit from observing her students balk at challenging activities in the classroom, yet excel in competitive areas outside of school. Her heart for the challenges teachers face and education as a whole led to her dream job of writing and empowering other teachers. Laila now leads professional development sessions on grit and blended learning at school districts across the country and has penned two remarkable books: "Raising Children with Grit" and "Grit in the Classroom". All of her wonderful programs and resources support teachers and parents as they aim to raise kids with grit and determination. Laila and her husband have a blended family of 6 children, which has added first-hand to her expertise from the parenting and family perspectives.
