Derek Shields

Derek has worked in support of global accommodations programs, wounded warrior transition services, domestic violence programs, vocational and rehabilitation research projects for Social Security beneficiaries and veterans, and employer technical assistance and training initiatives centered on improving quality of life for youth and adults with disabilities in the workplace, community and home. Currently, Derek is also a Trainer and Consultant for the Department of Labor’s Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN) and the Retaining Employment and Talent after Injury/Illness Network (RETAIN), a program focused on Stay-at-Work/Return-to-Work (SAW/RTW) strategies. He also joined the Disability:IN Inclusion Works team as a consultant and recently helped launch the Disability:IN Global Directory. He also published Nobody Taught Me How to Network: A Networking and Mentoring Workshop and Activity Guide.
