Olivia Pagani
Olivia Pagani is responsible for the breast cancer medical treatment and clinical research at the Institute of Oncology of Southern Switzerland. From 2013 to 2018 she was the director of the Eusoma and Swiss certified Breast Unit of Southern Switzerland and from 2005 to 2008 co-president of the SAKK breast cancer project. Her main research interest is breast cancer, an area in which she has published widely. Recently her research interests have been breast cancer in young women and advanced breast cancer. She was chair of the TEXT trial conducted worldwide by IBCSG, whose results have changed the recommendations for adjuvant endocrine therapy in premenopausal women. She is currently chair of the POSITIVE study, coordinated by IBCSG within the Breast International Group (BIG). She is also principal investigator of several SAKK and IBCSG trials. She is a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and of the SAKK Network for Cancer Predisposition Testing and Counseling.
