Ciara Devine

Ciara Devine is a 43-year-old married mother of two daughters, ages nine and one. She was raised and currently lives in Ireland. Ciara studied design in Dublin in the mid 1990s where she subsequently worked in design and communications in Dublin, Ireland and London, England. In 2009, she decided to change career direction by developing her long-standing interest in food and the environment through a master’s degree in food policy. In March 2013, shortly after completing her master’s degree, at the age of 36, she was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. Following recovery from cancer treatment she volunteered as a breast cancer patient advocate with Europa Donna Ireland. Areas of particular interest to her include survivorship issues for younger women, especially to do with fertility and breastfeeding; and patient involvement in cancer research. She is currently busy at home raising her two girls.
