Rahim Thawer

Rahim Thawer is a clinical social worker and psychotherapist based in Toronto. He works on a health team and as a consultant in private practice. He operates from a harm reduction, sex-positive, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed approach providing psychotherapy to newcomer, racialized, queer, trans and HIV-affected communities. He also facilitates training for organizations around anti-racism/anti-oppression, queer men’s mental health, and becoming more trauma-informed. Rahim provides clinical supervision to graduate students and front line workers and teaches as a contract lecturer at post-secondary institutions. He developed curriculum for a number of courses in Centennial College’s Addiction & Mental Health Worker Program before its launch in Fall 2016.
