Rena Cook

I started life as a singer/actor/dancer. Performing is about me and teaching is about we. I taught high school drama and felt I was changing lives through theatre. Then I upended the security of my life, quit my job to go back to school for an advanced degree. I wanted to do more. I stared teaching actors in college and while I was training actors I became obsessed with the voice. So, I quit my job in my tenure year and went to London by myself for a year to get another MA in voice studies at London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Then again, I felt that restlessness that I am meant to do more. So, I founded Vocal Authority to work with individuals, and groups; I speak, coach, train and facilitate, what the client needs in order to achieve their communication goals. I wrote a book called Empower Your Voice: For Women in Business Politics and Life. My mission is to give voice to the voiceless and share strategies for speaking personal truth in all situations.
