Marty Irby
Marty Irby is the Executive Director of Animal Wellness Action. In his role as executive director, Irby, oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization, and serves as its chief lobbyist on Capitol Hill. Before joining AWA, Irby headed up the equine protection and rural affairs departments at The Humane Society of the United States, and served as the senior Republican lobbyist on Capitol Hill for the Humane Society Legislative Fund. Irby worked in the United States House of Representatives for Congressman Ed Whitfield (R-KY) serving as Press Secretary, then Communications Director and Agriculture, Animal Protection, and NASA Policy Advisor. In that role, Mr. Irby handled the Congressman’s agriculture, animal welfare, and science portfolio. He worked with farmers and agricultural groups from Kentucky and around the United States. A native of South Alabama, Irby grew up on a farm with horses, cattle, and other animals.
