Maria Nhambu

Maria Nhambu is the author of a memoir, Dancing Soul Trilogy, which begins with her childhood in a German orphanage run by missionary nuns and continues with her arrival in the United States, her adjustment to a new culture, the creation of a family she longed for, and dramatic discoveries about her past. Born bi-racial in Tanzania, East Africa, she fulfilled her dreams in the United States where she attended college, became a teacher, married and raised two children. Nhambu created a popular workout based on African dance (Aerobics with Soul®). She has made sharing her love of Africa and its culture and rhythms the focus of her life, giving African dance presentations and speaking about Africa nationally and internationally.
