Lidia Schapira
Dr. Lidia Schapira is Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine and Director of Cancer Survivorship at the Stanford Comprehensive Cancer Institute. Dr. Schapira's clinical research is dedicated to improving quality of life and health outcomes for people living with cancer and their caregivers. Dr. Schapira has pioneered research and training in communication skills for cancer clinicians and is currently designing novel programs to equip cancer patients to meet the challenges of living with a life-altering illness. Through mentoring, teaching and writing, Dr. Schapira has contributed to training oncologists to recognize the importance of attending to the social and emotional dimensions of care. Dr. Schapira is a former member of the faculty at Harvard Medical School and a Consultant editor for the Journal of Clinical Oncology. She served on the Board of Directors of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society and is a Fellow of ASCO (FASCO).
