Dr. Phillip Paden

Dr. Phillip Paden is an American Board Certified Ophthalmologist. He was a chemistry faculty at Cornell University and a former professional photographer. Dr. Paden was the first ophthalmologist in Oregon to offer laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), which is used to treat glaucoma. He was also the first ophthalmologist in Southern Oregon to seriously approach refractive lens procedures by acquiring the ZEISS® IOL Master®. This invaluable diagnostic tool is used before cataract surgery for optimal results. Paden Eye Care Center is one of the first ophthalmology offices in the United States to be equipped with the Spectralis® Heidelberg Retina Angiograph and Optical Coherence Tomograph (HRA OCT) unit. This scans the retina at a rate of 40,000 per second and produces highly detailed image of it. The office also utilizes the 2RT Retinal Rejuvenation Laser for intervention and treatment of macular degeneration. Dr. Paden also serves as a consultant for some of the world's largest pharma companies.
