Harvard/MGH neuroscientist, internationally recognized serial entrepreneur, digital imaging expert & visual effects (VFX) pioneer, Dr. Barry Sandrew has over 33 patents and decades of feature film & TV accomplishments including productions for all the major Hollywood studios, TV networks & several cable networks. In 2000 he established the first & longest operating VFX studio in India. In 1987 Sandrew invented digital colorization. Between 1987-1993, he colorized over 250 films, 180 TV episodes & 70 cartoons. In 2000 Sandrew re-invented colorization, founding Legend Films. There he produced 150 films for the Legend Films' library & colorized films for Fox, Sony, Universal and Paramount. In 2007 Sandrew invented a process for converting 2D films to 3D, changing the company name to Legend3D. Sandrew is continuing to apply his proven entrepreneurial talent and executive management skills on interim projects while also focusing on emerging opportunities in augmented reality.
