Reed Howard
REED HOWARD and his wife, Ashley, were expecting their first child when filming for this documentary was getting under way. His sister, director Bryce Dallas Howard, seized this serendipitous opportunity to capture Reed’s journey into fatherhood. He is the youngest of four, though no stranger to nieces and nephews, and becoming a father himself was completely unfamiliar territory. With the examples set by his father and grandfather, both of whose parenting skills he admired, Reed understood the importance of being present, especially in those first few days and weeks of a child’s life. From the frustrating installation of a car seat to a new father’s most precious moments, he would experience all the milestones on camera.
