Orlando Rolon
Orlando Rolon was born in Puerto Rico and has been residing permanently in the Orlando community since 1977. On October 29, 2018 he was sworn in as the Orlando Police Department’s 39th Chief of Police and the 1st Latino Chief of Police by Mayor John “Buddy” Dyer. On November 8, 1992, he began his career with the City of Orlando Police Department. Rolón served as Deputy Chief of Police for four years before being appointed Chief of Police. Nearly two years, as the Administrative Services Bureau Commander, and over two years as the Patrol Services Bureau Commander. During his career at the Orlando Police Department Rolón worked or supervised in the four Department Bureaus; Patrol Services Bureau, Administrative Services Bureau, Investigative Services Bureau, and Special Services Bureau. He worked or supervised in nine of the Department’s eleven Divisions and served nearly 20 years as part of the Crisis Negotiation Team and served as the Team Commander.
