Elise Ciribassi, DVM

Dr. Elise Ciribassi comes to us with such incredible experiences! She participated in a summer internship at the Brookfield Zoo Hoof stock area, focusing on giraffe care, in 1979. She went on to earn her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1980, and graduated from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Ciribassi practiced at the Troy Veterinary Clinic in Pennsylvania from 1984 to 1988, which was a mixed animal practice where she was able to concentrate on small animal, large animal surgery, and some dairy goat medicine. In 1988, she and her husband opened Gary at North Veterinary Center in Carol Stream, Illinois, a small animal practice with some exotic animal/pocket pet exposure. In 1992 they bought and owned the Carol Stream Animal Hospital until 2015. Dr. Elise has also shared veterinary responsibilities for zoo animal residents at Cosley Zoo in Wheaton since 1990.
