Lúcia Moniz

LÚCIA MONIZ (Maria Rosa) is an award-winning actor who has starred on television series such as “Maternidade” and in several features including Ana Rocha De Sousa’s forthcoming drama, Listen. Her many theater credits include playing Stella in Tennessee Williams’ “A Streetcar Named Desire” and roles in “Next to Normal,” a Pulitzer Prize-winning musical that ran two seasons in Lisbon, and Yasmina Reza’s “Conversations After a Burial.” Since 2016 Moniz has worked with the theater company Palco 13, appearing in “Richard II” and several other notable productions. In 2019 she and her brother, Paulo Quedas, made the leap to directing with the play “The Adventures of John With No Fear.” Moniz was born in Lisbon, the daughter of Azorean musicians. At the age of 6 she began music training at Santa Cecília Music Academy. She also developed a deep passion for acting and made several appearances on Portuguese television and the stage.
