Makito Kamiya
Makito Kamiya (CEO, Associa Co., Ltd. / Part-time Lecturer, Okinawa International University / Former Director, Japanese Society for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities) Mr. Makito Kamiya started his career working in a facility for people with cognitive disabilities in 1999. In 2006, Mr. Kamiya studied in Denmark under the supervision of the Chairperson of Bank Mikkelsen Memorial Foundation to deepen his understanding in the field of normalization. After returning to Japan, Mr. Kamiya served on the boards of several welfare facilities as well as training instructors in the area of employment support for people with disabilities. Mr. Kamiya established Associa Co., Ltd. in 2009. Associa is an organization that aims to increase the self-esteem and confidence of people with disabilities. AssociaFolkehøjskole currently enrolls30 students. Mr. Kamiya is also an adjunct faculty member who teaches welfare facilities management at Okinawa International University.
