Joseph Basile
Joseph Basile is President of Catania Oils, one of the Northeast’s largest processors and packers of plant-based oils including olive, vegetable, blended and specialty oils. He and his brother Stephen represent the fourth generation of a family business that expanded from its modest roots in the early 1900’s to a multi-million-dollar supplier of quality oils for retail, food service and bulk customers. Joe grew up in the family business and was no stranger to hard work. His first job at age 12, was a Boston Globe paperboy and from ages 12-22 he worked on the production lines at Catania Oils, changed leakers and jumped in to help wherever he was needed. Experiencing all aspects of the company at such a young age created a longstanding appreciation and passion for the work, the products and what it took to keep Catania Oils running on a daily basis. The company’s oils are a key ingredient in some of the nation’s most popular brands including Kellogg’s, General Mills, Ken’s & more.
