Karen Krestel
Karen Kestrel is half Norwegian and grew up in Sussex among ponies, chickens, ducks and dogs. She lived in Norway for six years in her early childhood where she enjoyed skiing to school and building igloo dens. She now lives in Berkshire with her husband, David, and two sons., their four rescue dogs and the cat. She was lucky enough to be spotted by a modelling scout in London in the 80’s and so enjoyed an unintentional and successful career as a model. However, on hanging up her stilettos at age 26, she found herself unemployable so with no real qualifications and only an eye for design, and ability to draw, her entreprenieurial spirit kicked in and she set up her own design and property marketing business which went onto win an industry award. When her sons came along, Karen decided to change her work /life balance and started to do property refurbishment to fit around looking after her sons and their school days. She is a passionate mental health and wellbeing campaigners.
