Jan Trullinger-Dwyer
Jan Trullinger-Dwyer is an Artist and Teacher, turned Advocate. She’s been painting for 48 years and plein air painting for 10 years. Through her Paint Club, she teaches drawing and painting classes, and especially enjoys teaching those who believe they are not artistic. Her background also includes psychology and political science, and working in a secured treatment program for the most violent adolescents in Oregon. There, she learned that these kids want what any other teenager wants - love, acceptance and friends. As a caregiver for others inside and outside her family, she’s witnessed how often we turn away from those who are sick or old. She believes that if we can stay engaged with each other in these difficult times, there is a beauty and tenderness. Today, her art brings people back to this beauty while raising awareness around the human impact of Covid in her community. To learn more visit www.facebook.com/StumptownStudioArts.
