Tara Liu is a sophomore student in the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University studying Biological Sciences and Cross Sector Leadership with the plan of attending medical school. She is the Service Chair of ASU’s Next Generation Service Corps, a four year program that develops character driven leaders charged with driving positive impact globally by crossing sectors, connecting networks, and igniting action for the greater good. Tara is also a part time Research Technician at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix investigating Hepatopulmonary Syndrome in a Pulmonary Endothelial Lab. She was elected as the Internal Affairs Chair for ASU’s Student Health Outreach for Wellness where she onboards new volunteers to provide health programs for underserved populations in Arizona. Tara helps students navigate through their premedical journey in Alpha Epsilon Delta, a pre-health honors society on campus. For her Barrett Thesis, she is creating a documentary on the ASU Covid-19 Saliva Testing Lab, a facility that is one of the first in the West. Lastly, she has been running leadership development programs in Rotary Youth Leadership Camps in Arizona for the past four years. Tara loves playing the flute in the ASU’s Flute Ensemble, running, drawing, and exploring hiking trails in her free time.
