Joan Newcomb
Joan Newcomb is the Manager of Employee Assistance for Norfolk Southern Railway Company. Her team provides services for over 19,000 employees in 22 states. Joan is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional, Qualified Substance Abuse Professional, and earned her MEd and BS degrees from Penn State University. She is currently completing the Old Dominion University’s Certificate Program in Addiction Prevention and Treatment. Joan’s previous work experience includes over twenty-five years in corporate training and development in the fields of health care, utilities and transportation. In 2013, Joan started the Harrisburg, PA Nar-Anon family group. This meeting continues to support loved ones concerning the addiction problems of someone close to them. Joan is the head of Norfolk Southern Railroad's EAP program. They have a fantastic program to assist those employees with everything from mental health, substance abuse, to overall wellness campaigns.
