Amy Hartl

Amy Hartl lives at the intersection of personal and professional experience and breast cancer land. Growing up high risk with a BRCA1+ mutation and long family history she was drawn to serving women like her mother and grandmother who had been through breast and ovarian cancers. In 2012 she began her career in oncology massage and lymphatic drainage therapy and in 2017 she was diagnosed with stage I IDC. After a double mastectomy with implant reconstruction and eight rounds of chemotherapy she still deals with certain challenges, but thanks to her extensive training and cancer related bodywork, she had knowledge and skills that helped her not only in her physical recovery but in her long-term survivorship as well. Amy strongly believes that every woman deserves the opportunity to feel at home in her body and helping women impacted by breast cancer move beyond the feelings of fear, confusion, and aloneness to achieve self-reliance and self-confidence is her passion. In 2020 Amy founded As We Are Now LLC to help women confront the challenges that occur as they transition from initial surgeries and treatments into survivorship. Through the As We Are Now private virtual membership Community and 8-week online Body Empowerment Program, Amy guides women in the knowledge and confidence needed to make informed decisions in their recovery, begin to reclaim agency over their identities, and, ultimately, live their lives beyond breast cancer.
