Laura Plata
Laura Plata, is a student that is part of the Class of 2024! She is originally from Bogota, Colombia, and is fluent in Spanish. She absolutely loves STEAM, otherwise known as science, technology, engineering, art, and math. She wanted to share her love for STEAM with other children, especially Latino kids, so in the summer of 2020, while we were on lockdown learning to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, Laura decided to make her mission to help kids have fun while learning STEAM! She began making the STEAMinis website and developing workshops with the support of other organizations that generously shared their teaching materials. Laura's hope that she will be able to show kids all that STEAM has to offer. She is currently working on reaching out to organizations that will help distribute online workshops to teach kids STEAM, the fun, STEAMinis way!
