JEFFREY JUNIG, MD
Dr. Junig is an MD PhD, a Fellow of American Society of Addiction Medicine, and Asst. Clinical Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He was an early adopter of using buprenorphine to treat Opioid Use Disorder, and has long-promoted greater use of buprenorphine through his blog and forum, SuboxoneTalk.com. He practices psychiatry and addiction medicine through his private practice at Fond du Lac Psychiatry. He wrote an e-book in 2009 “Users Guide to Suboxone.” Dr. Junig earned his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester and graduated with honors from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He became Board Certified in Anesthesiology and worked in anesthesia and pain medicine for 10 years. He became addicted to codeine cough syrup in 2000 and his addiction progressed to other opioids. He went through treatment for OUD in 2001. He returned to residency, in Psychiatry, at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry and in Addiction Medicine.
