Paula Cofer

I am a LASIK patient advocate and retired banker residing in the beautiful state of Florida. Twenty-one years ago I suffered a disastrous outcome from LASIK eye surgery. I spent the next several years studying the science of LASIK in the hope of finding a solution. What I learned was that LASIK is a one-way street and you can’t go back. I got involved in online patient support groups, and in 2014 I started the LASIK COMPLICATIONS SUPPORT GROUP on Facebook, which currently has roughly 7,500 members. I have been interviewed by many media outlets, including New York Times, National Public Radio, CBS News, Chicago Tribune, and others. I was on the television program Inside Edition, and I was a guest on the Dr. Oz show. I served as an advisor to the FDA on LASIK issues. I am the President of the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Vision Advocacy, Inc. LASIK Complications Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LasikComplicationsFaceBookGroup
