Sim Segal

Sim Segal is president of SimErgy, an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) consulting firm based in Manhattan. Segal is also founder and director of the M.S. in Enterprise Risk Management Program at Columbia University, the largest such program globally. Segal is a globally-recognized ERM thought leader and pioneer, primarily for developing value-based ERM – an advanced yet practical approach synthesizing ERM and value-based management. Segal is author of an ERM book published by Wiley called Corporate Value of Enterprise Risk Management, which is typically highly ranked in its category on Amazon.com and is required reading on the syllabi of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and leading universities around the world. Segal has been quoted as an ERM expert in publications such as the Wall Street Journal and Global Finance. He has authored ERM articles in publications such as Forbes, American Banker, and Corporate Finance Review. Segal has published multiple ERM research studies. He is also a frequently invited speaker to ERM conferences and events. Segal is a Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA). Segal is one of 40 ERM experts awarded the CERA for “thought leadership and significant contributions to advance the practice of ERM.”
