Catherine McCord

Her work has been described as “speak(ing) loudly in whispers with a poignancy that is palpable.” During her Gap Years she wrote, directed, and edited seven short narrative and documentary films. They have screened at over a dozen film festivals internationally, including the White House Film Festival and the Seattle International Film Festival. Her most recent film, You’re Gonna Be Okay, screened during the Opening Night Gala at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) and won the Kathy Reichgerdt Inspiration award. ? In 2018, her film, Come Back To Me, tackled the issue of gun violence and won Best Young Filmmaker in the My Røde Reel Short Film Competition. She has been named a Presidential Scholar as a college freshman and has been awarded scholarships from the Leopold Schepp Foundation and the Taco Bell Foundation.
