G. Richard Shell is a faculty member at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he chairs Wharton’s Legal Studies and Business Ethics Department. His new book, The Conscience Code: Lead with Your Values. Advance Your Career, addresses an increasingly urgent problem in today’s workplace: standing up for core values when the pressure is on to look the other way. His students have included Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, Fortune 500 CEOs, FBI hostage negotiators, Navy SEALs, and UN peacekeepers. Shell’s previous award-winning books include Bargaining for Advantage: Negotiation Strategies for Reasonable People, The Art of Woo (with Mario Moussa), and Springboard: Launching Your Personal Search for Success. Collectively, they have sold over 500,000 copies in 17 foreign languages.
