Lotta Bengtsson

I grew up in Sweden outside Stockholm. My parents have a fast food wholesale company, so I have always been involved in a family business. Already since first grade my sister and I took turns helping out in the business during the weekends. After high school I went abroad to study Hotel & Restaurant Business Management in England, and got to do internships in London and Guernsey, which have helped me throughout the years in my own businesses. Coffee and food has always been my passion and in the late 90’s my sister and I started our first cafe/restaurant, Systrarna Lundberg that is still around today with the same name and pretty much the same concept. Sweden has always been a big coffee country and was early out learning about specialty coffee. It was at that time I got my passion for artisan coffee. In the 2000’s I got married and started a family. I stayed home with our two boys for a few years before we decided to move to Chicago. After a couple of years in retail I decided to continue my passion for specialty coffee and building businesses. I am now running Newport Coffee House with our own roasting, bakery and two shops.
