Sandra Maki is a former business owner of an Electrical Contracting company in Los Angeles, California. Until 2006, Southern California was her primary home state along with a second home base in Salt Lake City, Utah until late 2016 when her husband Mel Maki suffered a life-altering stroke that left him permanently paralyzed. A move to the greater Phoenix area to give close proximity to Mel's two brothers residing in Arizona, brought Mel much joy. Sandra has many interests with a primary focus on mentorship and advocacy. In 2012, Sandra took her years of entrepreneurship and customer experience expertise to her current management career with American Express. Sandra also volunteers and remains active in women and children advocacy organizations. In February 2021, her husband Mel passed from long term effects of his stroke and COVID-19. Sandra doesn't want to fade into grief so she has sought out numerous opportunities to support others through times of tragedy and seasons of difficulty. There is no better therapy than to care for others. Sandra's Life's Motto: "Always leave people better than you found them. Hug the hurt. Kiss the broken. Befriend the lost. Love the lonely."
