Leonard Weaver

Today’s special guest on Ray Ellis Sports is the Philadelphia Eagle’s All Pro Running Back Leonard Weaver. Weaver began his college football career in 2001 at Carson-Newman College Weaver was signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2005 and converted to the fullback position. In 2006 Weaver was named the Seahawks starting fullback. His first starting game was against the New Orleans Saints, A restricted free agent in the 2008 offseason, Weaver signed his one-year, tender offer on April 17. Weaver signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on March 20, 2009 and he was selected to the 2010 Pro Bowl as a starting fullback. During the season on his days off in Philadelphia , he volunteers to teach classes in nearby Camden New Jersey schools. Leonard's faith and community involvement are of great importance to him. Nicknamed "The Bishop" in college for his proclivity to spend free time traveling with a ministry in the off-season singing Christian themed R&B music. Mr. Weaver will be honored this year for his commitment to communities at the Player Networking Event.
