Cecil Harris

Cecil Harris has written for The New York Times, New York Daily News, Newsday, New York Post, Raleigh News & Observer, Indianapolis Star, Associated Press, and USA Today. He has covered such major sporting events as the Summer Olympics, World Series, college basketball championship game, NBA playoffs, NFL playoffs, New York City Marathon, Stanley Cup playoffs and U.S. Open tennis. He appeared in three documentaries: “Althea & Arthur” (tennis); “A Perfect Match” (tennis); and "Soul on Ice" (hockey). He'll appear in the upcoming hockey documentary, “Black Ice." He has authored four books: Different Strokes: Serena, Venus, and the Unfinished Black Tennis Revolution; Breaking the Ice: The Black Experience in Professional Hockey; Call the Yankees My Daddy; and Charging the Net: A History of Blacks in Tennis from Althea Gibson and Arthur Ashe to the Williams Sisters.
