Kayla Preito-Hodge PhD

Dr. Kayla Preito-Hodge is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Rutgers University, Camden. She is also a fellow at the Institute for Global and Racial Justice at Rutgers. Dr. Preito-Hodge earned her doctorate in Sociology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and her Bachelors in Sociology at Boston College. Her research focuses on the intersections of race, policing, and organizations. Namely, Dr. Preito-Hodge’s work takes an organizational approach in looking at issues within policing and considers how race and organizational factors contribute to disparities and abuses in current policing practices and policies. Kayla is an avid supporter of police, criminal, and juvenile justice reform efforts, and has been featured on a number of media outlets.
