She graduated from Northwestern University in 1986, where she played tennis. She played professional tennis for two years and then coached at the high school and college levels before coming on staff with Athletes In Action in 1989. Doug grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and received his degree from Auburn University, where he played baseball. In 1982 Doug was named Auburn Athlete of the Year and was drafted in the seventh round of the amateur baseball draft by the Kansas City Royals. He went on to play five years of professional baseball in the Kansas City Royals minor league system before coming on staff with Athletes In Action in 1989. He trusted Christ while playing baseball in the minor leagues through the influence of Athletes In Action and Baseball Chapel. Doug and Stephanie moved to Tampa in 1992 from Lawrence, Kansas where they ministered with Athletes In Action on the campus of Kansas University. Doug is the Pro Director for Athletes In Action in Tampa Bay. He has served as the chaplain for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the past nineteen years.
