We all know that we want to be heard and we want to be respected, We may even be pretty conscious of wanting to respect other people. Still it is not unusual for everyone to accidentally step on someone's toes and not even realize it due to differences in individuals, communities and cultures. We may even know that trivial slights have started wars--just mixed up communication.
