This was the tag line for a commercial for pain killers. The question is a bigger one, though. Why are we, as a culture, in so much pain all the time. If you think about it, we are terribly prone to addiction, constantly self-medicating with toxic substances (alcohol, tobacco, drugs). Why is this the case? The best-selling class of OTC (over the counter) pharmaceuticals sold in the US is analgesics (pain killers).
