Jeff Sheffield, a 27-year transportation professional, is the executive director of the independent four-county North Florida Transportation Planning Organization handling transportation planning and prioritizing in the region. He has a Master of Science in urban planning from Florida State University.

Jeff joined United Way of Northeast Florida in 2006 and currently serves as the Head of Basic Needs. In this role, he administers a funding portfolio to over 40 local agencies that provide foundational services to individuals and families in poverty or who are ALICE. Jeff also oversees United Way’s 2-1-1 Information, Referral and Suicide hotline and United Way’s hurricane and disaster preparedness efforts. He currently is leading the effort to establish Mission United in Northeast Florida, which is a collective impact initiative that helps veterans and their families navigate and access community resources, while also improving the systems in place to help this deserving population.
