Dr. Michael Moore

Dr. Michael Moore is the Arilla Spence DeVault Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the Vice Chair of Academic Affairs at Indiana University. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Indiana University Health Joe and Shelly Schwarz Cancer Center in Northern Indianapolis. He is clinically active as a head and neck cancer and reconstructive surgeon, and has an academic interest in head and neck cancer awareness and prevention with a particular focus on HPV vaccination initiatives. He is the acting Chair of the Cancer Prevention Committee of the American Head and Neck Society and is President of the Board of the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance.

Kristen Beadle

Kristin Beadle is the Assistant Director for Speech Pathology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Hearing and Speech in New York. She specializes in the treatment of patients with head and neck cancer and has held several lectures on rehabilitation for laryngectomy patients. Kristen has published in the Cureus Journal of Medical Science on the topic of head and neck cancer and also taught graduate level courses at Adelphi University, Long Island University, and CW Post Campus. Kristin holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a member of ASHA’s Special Interest Group 13. She is also a certified Lymphedema Therapist.

Terry O'Brien

Terry O’Brien was diagnosed with stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx in early 2015. His treatment included 35 radiation treatments, a laryngectomy (a procedure in which the voice box is removed), and reconstructive surgeries. Terry uses TracheoEsophageal Puncture (TEP) to talk. Now, almost 5 years later, he functions independently without assistance.
