Dr. Shital Vora is Co-Founder and CEO of Global Brigades, the largest student-funded humanitarian organization in the world. In 2003, while an undergraduate at Marquette University, Dr. Vora established the non-profit’s very first medical brigade. Since then, 83,000-plus students from more than 450 universities and high schools have fundraised in excess of $100 million in aid and participated in Medical, Water, and Business Brigades. In the face of COVID-19, Global Brigades recently pivoted to virtual programming. Now, Zoom – instead of airplanes – whisks students to Ghana, Greece, Guatemala Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.
