May 17th 2007: : Thoughts on being a bereaved parent and grandparent

Seventeen years ago, Polly Moore’s nine-year-old daughter, Lauren, died after stepping in front of a vehicle while waiting for the school bus. She found help and support from The Compassionate Friends. Over the years, she has strived to give back to this wonderful organization by serving as chapter leader, outreach coordinator, regional coordinator, national conference committee member and as a director on the national board of The Compassionate Friends. In March 2006, Polly’s grandson, Samuel, died from numerous anomalies one day after his premature birth.
