In 1982, Doug started a new career after 30 years as a minister and was one of the early pioneers in the study of grief. His work began when a friend said, after losing her young daughter, “Don’t take my grief away from me”. This became the title of his first book and started him on the road to his second career. He has published over 30 books and for 24 years has traveled the world as a lecturer and counselor. His words bring comfort to the bereaved as he acknowledges the significance of their loss and the long journey of grief.
