According to Amnesty International, Native American women are 2.5 times more likely to be sexually assaulted than women of other ethnic groups. Due to legal jurisdictional conflicts regarding crimes committed on reservations, lax response by law enforcement and lack of services, Indian women can pretty much be raped with impunity. This week, Crime Prevention Specialist Susan Bartelstone speaks with Charon Asetoyer, of the Native American Women's Health Education Resource Center, about what can be done to change this situation.
