In 2008, 47-year old Agnes Bermudez was accused of dousing her 32-year-old ex-boyfriend, William Salazar, with flammable liquid in a jealous rage and setting him--and the building--on fire. Three other tenants also died; and Bermudez, a beautiful woman, suffered disfiguring burns to her face and upper body. She claimed self defense and Crime Prevention Specialist Susan Bartelstone ALMOST served on the jury that eventually acquitted her.
