Richard Goodman, an author and writing teacher, was feeling restless after the Twin Towers fell.
So, he rode his bicycle from his apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan to ground zero almost every day, peeking into blocked off areas that others were prohibited from entering. When he got home, he'd jot down notes about what he'd observed that day - how the city was feeling and faring.
These have now become a very special book: The Bicycle Diaries: One New Yorker's Journey Through 9/11.
