When we feel emotionally and mentally stuck, people around us say, “just, let it go.” I agree, this is great advice and many books on healing recommend the same thing. Yet, what is the process of letting go. The tendency is to try to change, fix, or solve unpleasantness; or come up with a reason for the uncomfortable feelings. Experience has taught me that the first phase of letting go is to accept the thought, feeling, situation, trauma, injury or condition exactly the way that it is.
